My home has an oil fired boiler

Now I need to know if it is a steam boiler or a hot water boiler. The brand, such as whether it is one of Burnham boilers or not, is not important at this stage.

I have an oil fired steam boiler.
Not started
A steam boiler will have a sight gauge to see the water level, it will not have an expansion tank, it will have a gauge but it will only be for pressure.

I have an oil fired hot water boiler.
Started but not finished
A hot water boiler will have an expansion tank a temperature and pressure gauge and circulators.
